People buy from people. People follow people. People love people. They don’t buy, follow, and love companies anywhere close to the same way. If you want to build a great campaign, you need to tell your founding story. Tell me why you’re doing this. Tell me why it’s important to you. Tell me how you’re trying to make the world a better place. What does your One Word mean to you? Let me feel your passion. Telling your story helps people connect to you, and the instant they connect with you personally, they’re much more likely to take action. Because now they care. This is one of the biggest mistakes many entrepreneurs make. They hide behind their website and marketing materials. They don’t want to make it all about themselves. They don’t have huge egos. They want to make the products and services shine, not themselves. Big. Mistake. Telling your story isn’t about boosting your ego. Your story adds value and context for your customers. By understanding why you started this business, I connect with the products you’re selling. By feeling your passion for what you do, I connect with the quality of your products. By telling me what you stand for and are trying to accomplish, I connect with you as a person and an entrepreneur. If you don’t tell me, I don’t connect. I’m going to base my decision on price. And being the lowest-priced provider is usually a death trap for entrepreneurs. I know because that was almost me. In today's hangout we talk about how you can tell your story and make it remarkable.
